Harry Potter – Joanne’s Dream

In late June 1997 in London, an advertising company released what would become a cultural phenomenon. The book's author, a teacher, would become a household name. His journey took her from Gloucestershire, England, where he was born, through Exeter, a city on the south coast of England, where he went to college, to work as a research assistant for Amnesty International and teaching. Joanne Rowling was her life dream of becoming a writer. . . succeeded.
Since the release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (the title was edited to Sorcerer's Stone in the United States because it was thought that he would not associate with the magic and the magic of the word philosopher), the book of the series now has deserved worldwide attention, many fans, numerous awards and recognitions, drawing the attention of film producers, manufacturers of video games and merchandising.
The list has received awards from Rowling?
– 4 Whitaker Platinum Book Awards in 2001
– 3 Nestle Smarties Book Awards in '97 and again in '99
– 2 Scottish Arts Council Book Awards
– The first Whitbread Children's Book of the Year award in '99
– And in 2006, the WHSmith Book of the Year
Oh, and his little friend, Harry Potter, which gets its name from the residents of Rowling's childhood, is a legend in his own mind.
Fans waited in long lines during the hours of the tick until the official release date of each new book. . . many times at midnight! Special security measures had to be taken to ensure that no books were sold before the actual date. Book store owners had to sign legal documents ensuring that not even open the boxes before then.
Numerous conventions, conferences and symposia have emerged worldwide. People could not and apparently still can not get enough of Harry and his clan. These meetings with important speakers, books and discussions of movies, games and costumes. Recently (May 2007) was to a conference in New Orleans – Phoenix Rising that developed from May 17 to 21.
  From the site:
"The conference will examine the novels, movies, and the extraordinary fan phenomenon during the day, then, attendees can experience the rhythm of the Crescent City itself rising from the ashes and flames when advances by night.
For those of you who might have missed, do not worry, there are other times 7-11 August 2008, in Chicago.
The impact on the publishing world was immense. So great was the cry of each new book in the series that The New York Times was persuaded to reformat its list of best-sellers. Harry was taking too many spaces in the list. In 2002, just before the release of Goblet of Fire is Times created a separate list of Harry Potter and the category of books for children.
The New York Times was not alone. FedEx truck used 9000, whose sole purpose was to deliver the Goblet of Fire to eager fans. Book retailers like Barnes and Noble, Borders and Amazon pre-selling books in spectacular numbers – 700,000 copies of glasses of fire. Sales records were shattered with each new release.
In all the books alone have sold over 325 million copies worldwide. In subsequent films, video games and merchandising that followed, Joanne, also known as JK Rowling for her fans, is a multimillionaire.
Despite its success, or perhaps because of it, she and Harry have their critics. Right wing conservatives claim the premise of the series is designed to attract younger generations to the dark side of glorifying witchcraft. Personally, I think I already did that Bewitched. But if you're really concerned that a work of pure fantasy convince your child could be his math teacher of grade 6 in the next spokesman for Geico low-viscosity, then learn calculus and help your child with homework ! On a side note – I have nothing against the Geico lizard, I think using cute little animals to sell insurance is brilliant.
For those of you dealing with separation anxiety in the departure of Harry and his gang, fear not! Although Rowling has decided to pull the teen wizard, she has plans to write an encyclopedia, an epilogue detailing some elements from the narrative, what happens after Deathly Hallows and reveals what happened to the position of director of Hogwart .
